N’Aina Calleja

N’Aina Calleja was born in Mallorca in 1981, at the age of 18 she went to study cinema in Barcelona at the ESCAC (Higher School of Cinema and Audiovisuals of Catalonia) where she specialized in montage. After completing his career, he moved to Mexico to do a documentary postgraduate at the CCC (Film Training Center) and there he has lived in the last 11 years. Two years ago he has returned to Mallorca.

As director and scriptwriter, he has made the short film, Los días en verano (The Summer Days), which he directed with help from the Mexican government. He has also co-written three feature films: the fictions Mayra and Betoi Manuela (sentimental situation: it is complicated), and the documentary winner of the last Ciutat de Palma Award The eyes stop growing, by Javier García Lerín.

As a mountaineer he has worked on different projects (both in Spain and Mexico) with fiction and documentary winners in various national and international festivals, some of them with the recognition of critics and the public, among them: The chosen ones of David Pablos, selected at the Cannes Film Festival, and for which he was nominated for Ariel for the best performance (Mexican Film Academy award), We all want the best of her from Mar Coll, Family Tour by Liliana Torres, Powder of Julio Hernández Cordón, Everybody loves somebodyde Catalina Aguilar Mastretta and María and the others of Nely Reguera. In the field of the documentary, he has assembled the two latest documentaries that have won the Ciudad de Palma de Audiovisuals Prize: Life and death of an architect Miguel Eek and Los ojos se detienen al crecer de Javier García Lerín, el mismo que también fue galardonado con el Award for Best National Documentary and the Audience Award at the IN-EDIT festival in Barcelona.
